USAID Nawiri Annual Report Year 4
This detailed report highlights the innovative strategies, collaborative partnerships, and integrated approaches that the Nawiri programme has embraced to effectively combat acute malnutrition and promote sustainable nutrition practices in these targeted regions.
Through concerted community-driven initiatives, Nawiri has not only met but surpassed its Year 4 targets. This achievement has positively impacted the lives of over 72,000 children and 19,000 pregnant/lactating women, marking a significant milestone in our journey toward improved nutrition outcomes.
The report also underscores Nawiri's steadfast commitment to market systems development (MSD) and service delivery, empowering local actors and the private sector to enhance food products, financial services, and nutrition commodities. By prioritising community-owned planning processes such as the Community Integrated Assessment and Action Planning (CIAAP), Nawiri ensures sustainable investments and fosters active community engagement in addressing malnutrition challenges at the grassroots level.
Moreover, the programme’s holistic approach extends beyond nutrition interventions, advocating for increased budget allocations in nutrition-sensitive sectors and forging collaborative partnerships with county governments to integrate nutrition planning into local development plans. This approach fosters resilience and promotes sustainable nutrition practices in Samburu and Turkana.
Together, through our collective efforts and shared commitment, we are not only shaping healthier and more resilient communities but also laying the foundation for a brighter, nourished future for all communities in Samburu and Turkana. Enjoy your reading!
