Thierry Tanoh

Thierry has more than 32 years of financial investment, banking, and senior government experience worldwide. He is an independent board member for various companies and institutions including the Azalai Hotel Group, the largest African-owned hotel chain in West Africa. He is a member of the Africa Advisory Council of the Groupe Duval, a French construction and micro-finance group, and is Co-Chair of the Advisory Council of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).  

Previously, Thierry was the CEO of Pan-African Bank, Ecobank Group – leading the team to the highest organic growth in the Bank’s history. Thierry also spent 18 years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he last held the position of Vice President for Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin American, the Caribbean, and Western Europe.

Thierry holds a bachelor's degree from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce d'Abidjan in Cote d’Ivoire. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he also received the World Bank Group Leadership and Diversity Award in 2006.  

Thierry was recently appointed to the President’s Council on International Affairs at Yale University.
