Tim Rann is the Managing Partner at Mercy Corps Ventures (MCV), an early stage impact venture capital fund focused on startups building solutions for climate adaptation and financial resilience in emerging markets. He brings 15+ years as a founder/operator and fund manager across Asia, Africa and Latam. He's led investments in 50+ emerging markets startup investments across the capital continuum with four exits to-date and >$400M+ capital catalysed.

Tim brings extensive experience in AgriFoodTech, ClimateTech, Carbon Finance and Web3. He sits on the boards of multiple MCV portfolio companies, and is an advisor to Goldfinch, MightyAlly, Empowa.io, Renoster, and Forest Carbon.

Prior to joining Mercy Corps to launch the fund, Tim led ventures in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Afghanistan, including Joma Bakery Cafe, PEPY Ride, Hagar Social Enterprise Group and Farm to Table Group. He also advised impact investment funds and social businesses across Southern Africa, East Africa and Southeast Asia, including Insitor Fund, Inkomoko, Bertha Philanthropy Fund, and Uberis Capital. When not running MCV, he’s chasing around after his two small kids or bouldering. Tim is based in Ciudad de Panamá, Panamá.
